About Gardenal Syrup
Gardenal Syrup belongs to the class of medicines known as ‘anticonvulsants,’ primarily used for the treatment or prevention of epilepsy (seizures). It is also used as a sedative to relieve anxiety and as a hypnotic for the short-term management of insomnia (sleeplessness). Epilepsy is a neurological disorder in which the nerves in the brain fail to function properly, resulting in seizures, unusual sensations or behaviour, and sometimes loss of consciousness.
Gardenal Syrup contains Phenobarbitone, which works by controlling abnormal electrical activity in the brain, thereby preventing and managing seizures. Additionally, it calms overactive chemicals in the brain, helping a person feel relaxed so the brain can function normally.
