1. Medical/Skin Infections: Diluted solutions (1:10,000) are used as an antiseptic to treat weeping eczema, impetigo, fungal infections (athlete’s foot), and superficial wounds.
2. Water Treatment: Used to remove iron, hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg smell), and manganese from well water, as well as to control zebra mussels and algae.
3. Produce Preservation: Oxidizes ethylene gas, thereby slowing the ripening process of fruits like bananas and mangoes during storage.
