It is used rectally to treat anal fissures and helps in relieving pain and swelling due to fissures and haemorrhoids. This medicine is also used to reduce pain after anorectal surgeries. ANO-Metrogyl Cream works by killing the bacteria that causes infection and promotes healing of infection. It also reduces pain by blocking pain signals to the brain. ANO-Metrogyl Cream shows common side effects that include rectal bleeding, skin rash, burning sensation, itching and irritation at the application site, etc. If any of these symptoms persist for a long time or bothers you, consult your doctor immediately.
