Folic acid, which is the primary constituent of B 9 5 MG Tablet, is a naturally occurring form of vitamin B necessary for maintaining some very important functions in the body. It is used as a medicine to treat certain forms of anemia caused due to deficiency of folic acid.

• Treating and preventing anemia: It is primarily used to treat or prevent a lack of blood caused by folic acid deficiency, known as megaloblastic anemia.
• Pregnancy support: Adequate folic acid intake is crucial during pregnancy to support proper fetal growth and development and lower the risk of serious birth defects in the baby’s brain and spinal cord (neural tube defects).
• Nutritional supplement: It is used as a dietary supplement for individuals with poor diets, malabsorption issues (like celiac disease or Crohn’s disease), or increased folate requirements.
• Immune system support: Folic acid plays a key role in DNA synthesis and immune system function.
• Mitigating drug side effects: It may be used to decrease the adverse effects of certain medications, such as methotrexate, used to treat conditions like severe arthritis.
