Abhayrab Vaccine is given to people who are at higher risk of coming in contact with rabies like veterinarians. It is also given to people after an animal bite if the animal could have rabies. If the vaccine is given immediately and appropriately, it is 100 percent effective.

• Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP): It is primarily used to prevent rabies in people who have been bitten, scratched, or licked on broken skin by a potentially rabid animal (e.g., dogs, bats, or wild animals).
• Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP): It is given as a preventive measure to individuals at high risk of exposure, such as veterinarians, animal handlers, or travelers going to high-risk areas.
• Booster Dose: It can be used as a booster to maintain or enhance immunity in previously vaccinated individuals.
