Introduction

Amlopres L Tablet is a combination medication used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension). It contains two active ingredients: Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker (CCB), and Losartan, an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). Together, they work to relax blood vessels, improve blood flow, and reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications such as heart attack and stroke.

• Treatment of High Blood Pressure (Hypertension): The medicine helps lower high blood pressure by relaxing and widening blood vessels, which makes it easier for the heart to pump blood throughout the body.
• Prevention of Heart Attack and Stroke: By maintaining controlled blood pressure, it significantly lowers the risk of serious cardiovascular events such as heart attacks and strokes.
• Management of Angina (Chest Pain): Amlodipine, one of the components, improves blood and oxygen supply to the heart muscle, which can help prevent certain types of chest pain (angina pectoris).
• Support for Heart Failure: It may also be used as part of a treatment plan to manage heart failure symptoms by reducing the workload on the heart.
• Kidney Protection: The medicine helps protect kidney function, particularly in patients who have both hypertension and type II diabetes mellitus.
