Gatiquil DS Syrup is an oral suspension containing Gatifloxacin as its primary active ingredient. Gatifloxacin belongs to the fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics.
- Mechanism of Action: It works by killing the infection-causing bacteria. It does this by blocking essential bacterial enzymes called DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are necessary for the bacteria to replicate their genetic material (DNA), grow, and repair themselves.
